Anthropic Is Building an App Builder Inside Claude, and Lovable Should Be Worried

Leaked screenshots posted on X today show what looks like a full-stack app builder baked directly into Claude's chat interface. Anthropic hasn't confirmed anything, but the images speak loudly.
Claude app builder leak: what the screenshots reveal
The leaked UI shows a text prompt field labeled "Let's ship something great," a live in-browser preview with a Publish button, and pre-built "Recipes" for auth setup, database connections, dark mode, and security scans. A settings panel exposes tabs for security, storage, secrets, logs, and even user analytics.
That goes well beyond Claude's existing Artifacts feature. This is full-stack deployment territory: frontend, backend, database, and hosting, all from a chat window.
Why Anthropic could dominate the vibe coding market
Claude Code already generates over $2.5 billion in annualized revenue as of early 2026 and is widely considered the best AI coding agent on the market. Layering a no-code interface on top of that engine would let Anthropic target the millions of non-technical users who currently flock to Lovable, Bolt.new, and v0.
Lovable, the Stockholm-based startup valued at $6.6 billion after a $330 million raise in December 2024, already sees the threat coming. Its head of growth, Elena Verna, recently said Big Tech platforms are the real competition, not other vibe-coding startups. She may be right.
Anthropic's pattern: enter a vertical, own it
This would not be Anthropic's first move into an established market segment. The company previously launched an AI legal tool that rattled European legal tech startups. Analyst Jackson Ader at KeyBanc warned other verticals would follow.
The structural advantage here is clear. Anthropic already owns the model, the coding agent, and the conversational interface. Lovable and Bolt.new must build infrastructure from scratch and rely on third-party models to power their generation.
What this means for vibe-coding startups
If this ships, consolidation in the vibe-coding space will accelerate fast. When you own the best coding model and add one-click deployment on top, what moat do specialized builders have left? Lovable's $6.6 billion valuation looks comfortable today, but comfort evaporates quickly when an AI giant decides to play on your field.
