ChatGPT Atlas vs Comet and Gemini in Chrome
The closest rival to Atlas was Comet, the browser from Perplexity, which remains available and pursues the same idea of an assistant acting on your pages. Google went another way and folded Gemini into Chrome rather than shipping a separate browser. Atlas ended up as a trial run, and OpenAI concluded that an app plus an extension covered the job.
